Odissi Performance in Kuala Lumpur - Rehearsal

Odissi in Kuala Lumpur

A probably outstanding Odissi performance had its première in Kuala Lumpur last week, with choreography by one of the greatest living gurus on this art, Durga Charan Ranbir from Bhubaneswar. Odissi is one of the many forms of theater-dance of India. Performance by Geetha Shankaran-Lam and her group.

The great news for us on other corners of the planet is that it is possible to watch parts of the rehearsal on Youtube - see the links below (copy and paste, please). Though it is only a rehearsal without the fabulous costumes, though children cross the stage here and there playing, though the youtube-monitor is so miserable... The greatness of these artists comes through.

Estreou há uma semana atrás um - ao que tudo indica fabuloso - espetáculo de Odissi em Kuala Lumpur (não sabe onde é? - joga no Google, bem!). Odissi é uma das muitas formas de dança-teatro da Índia, com certeza uma das mais refinadas. A coreografia é de um dos grandes gurus vivos, Durga Charan Ranbir de Bhubaneswar. O espetáculo saiu das mãos da dançarina Geetha Shankaran-Lam e seu grupo na Malásia.

A coisa genial para nós em outros recantos da terra é que parte do ensaio geral está no youtube - veja os links abaixo (tem que copiar e colar). E nem está mal filmado! É possível perceber que os dançarinos são tocantes, apesar da telinha raquítica, apesar de ser ensaio, apesar de ser youtube.

O absolutamente impagável / Zum schreien komisch

O absolutamente impagável Christian Pior, do Pânico na TV está animando os serões aqui de casa. Tem até um alemão da gema, de Dortmund, que adora, e me pede pra passar os vídeos no Youtube. Eu passo pra gente ver e vou traduzindo. Pena que um dos vídeos mais engraçados seja absolutamente intraduzível, tem que ser brasileiro mesmo e estar muito ligado no Brasil pra entender. Fartos jogos de palavras, alguns geniais.

Der unbezahlbare Christian Pior, von der Sendung Pânico na TV hat sogar deutsche Fans bei uns zu Hause. Eins der witzigsten Videos(Link oben) ist leider absolut unübersetzbar, man muss schon mit der brasilianischen Sprache und urbanen Kultur sehr vertraut sein.
